Why NitroMask ?

NitroMask keeps more nitrogen in the soil for plant uptake and limits N-loss to the atmosphere.

This special coating slows down the conversion of nitrogen in urea, to ammonia gas (Ammonia volatilisation) which is then lost to the atmosphere as a greenhouse gas. By slowing this process, Nitromask keeps more nitrogen in the soil for plant uptake, and reduces the impact on the environment. It also provides farmers more options for nitrogen fertiliser application throughout summer.

Application Rate and Method

• Mix 1% of NitroMask per Metric ton of Urea (or) 500 ml of NitroMask per 50 kg of Urea. Apply 1 litre / acre.
• Uniformly spread the urea on a poly sheet.
• Pour Nitro Mask evenly on the urea.
• Mix urea and Nitro Mask thoroughly and uniformly by hand or any other convenient method.
• Allow the mix to dry for atleast 2-3 hours before use.

Mode of Action

• The Neem bitters present in NitroMask inhibit nitrification of urea, resulting in prolonged release of nitrogen to the plant after application to the soil.
• When urea is coated with Nitro Mask, a thin golden  yellow colour forms and prevents nitrogen loss by leaching, ammonia volatilization and denitrification and thus reduces the fertilizer consumption by about 25%.
• Nitro Mask contains enriched neem bitters which have excellent pesticidal properties also. Nitro Mask coated urea when applied in the Rice fields, the neem bitters form a thin layer on the surface of the water thereby repels hoppers and other insects.
