Vembu
Vembu is an effective crop protectant formulation containing cold pressed natural neem oil extracted from seed kernels of Neem. It is a broad spectrum Fungicide, Insecticide and Miticide. The active ingredient azadirachtin together with other liminoids of neem such as Salanin, Nimbidin and Nimbin present in Vembu, acts as an Antifeedant and Insect repellent.
Vembu is a proven natural Antifeedant, Growth Regulator, Sterilant, Anti-Ovipositor and Insect Repellent. Vembu is an effective Insect Growth Regulator which acts as an antagonist by inhibiting the synthesis or metabolism of the insect molting hormone ecdysone. Vembu is more effective on the immature / young life stages of insects than eggs or adults. It disrupts the hormonal activity in the quiescent pupal stage and prevents adult emergence very effectively.
Vembu is versatile, easily biodegradable, leaving no toxic residues and thereby keeping the environment clean and safe. Vembu controls about 300 insect species, mites, termites, soil nematodes and some fungi. It also has some ectoparasitic properties as well.
Application Rate
Mix 4 - 8 ml / liter of water. Apply upto 7 liters / acre. Thoroughly mix solution and spray all plant surfaces (including undersides of leaves) until completely wet.

Vembu acts as a powerful growth regulator for insects and this IGR effect is the most pronounced mode of action of Vembu. Normally IGR affects the hormonal system of insects, preventing the insects from developing into normal mature insects.
Feeding Deterrence
Feeding behavior is both dependent on chemical senses stimulated due to contact chemoreceptors on trasi, mouthparts and oral activity and integration of the sensory code with the CNS.
Oviposition Deterrent
Insects stop laying eggs because of either complete absence or presence of deformed state of ecdysone hormone.
